Passed My CPA Exams and Signed a Lease in Dallas - An Update on Life

Welp..I'm back. For those of you that consistently check back and reach out asking when the next post is set to publish - THANK YOU.

The 4-5 week hiatus since the last blog post was primarily due to my attempt at completing my final CPA exam. So thanks to those of you that stuck around because I'll be posting plenty over the coming weeks to catch up on all of the opinions and "hot-takes" I missed the chance to share with you guys...I hope you're excited.

Let's start by circling back to my earlier conversation on CPA exams.

I'm Officially a CPA...kind of

It's over. I'm finished. Four CPA exams taken and four CPA exams passed. I couldn't be more thankful for all of the wonderful family and friends who helped keep me sane during this process. Completing these exams was a marathon and now that I'm finished I've realized that it was the hardest thing I've ever done.

Oh, but I'm technically not "Vincent Hale, CPA" just yet. There's a few more hoops to jump through before I get the official title, but the exams are passed which is the bulk of the requirements. Looking ahead, I'll have to take an ethics exam and work for an entire year before I can start signing off on your tax returns with "CPA" after my name.

And don't worry, despite the fact that my job has nothing to do with taxes, I'll ensure that I make time to file everyone's taxes in the coming years.

2 More Days in Orange, TX

If you've kept up with any previous blog posts, you've probably read about how I've been planning to move to Dallas to start work after graduation.

Initially, the plan was to move towards the end of August and start work in September. However, the apartment I ended up signing a lease at could only hold my apartment until July 16th.

I fell in love with the location and unit at the complex I'll be staying at and due to my increasing anticipation, I decided to go ahead and move up a little earlier than expected. This Friday I will officially be a resident of Dallas, TX and I plan on using my extra time in the city to become familiar with my surroundings before starting work in the coming months.

Life is moving fast right now and I'm so proud of all that I've been able to achieve over the past few months and thankful for the people who helped get me to the position I'm in.
